Default Magical weapons?

Reading through my Lizardmen army book I discovered a weapon entry (burning blade of chotec, I believe) that stated 'its attacks count as flaming attacks, and are magical'. Eager to discover what new, magical mysery I could inflict upon my opponents, I was dissapointed to find nothing in the main rules to explain what magical attacks do. So, can anyone help me?

Basically means you can hurt ethereal creatures.

Ethereal models are immune to normal damage, but you can hurt them with magical attacks.

It also effects some other things, like Dryads and Daemons who IIRC do not get their ward save against magical attacks.

Sweet, thanks

Do you have a rule book page number for future reference?

I don't I'm afraid. It should be in the section on magical weapons, or in the section on Ethereal creatures.

Furthermore, anything affected by them will state under its special rules (like Dryads Forest Spirit) that magic weapons ignore the save.

I don't think the rules for Ethereal creatures are even in the rule book (I have it right here). I think the rules for Ethereal creatures can only be found in their appropriate army books (eg. Bretonnia). The section on magical weapons doesn't mention Ethereal creatures. However, Faith is correct in saying that Ethereal creatures can only be wounded with magical attacks (as stated in the Ethereal rules).

The ward save on the other hand I think may be wrong. I play Wood Elves, but don't remember it...

Now, why wouldn't they include Ethereal Creatures and Magical Weapons in the main book? *RUns off to check* nope, can't find it.

Because it's only relevant in... 2 armies that I can think of off the top of my head.
