Default Going too high tech again: Panzerhammer

One thing I like doing with Warhammer is trying to model armies loosely off of historical counterparts, even if it leads to some silly inconsistencies with the real fluff...in a particular case, I'm interested in modeling an Empire army loosely based on a Wehrmact cavalry force.

Rank-and-file troops would primarily be Motorcycle Knights, while the specials would all be either Outriders/Pistoliers. The Pistoliers would be modeled to carry double-barreled shotguns while the Outrider champions in their units would carry MP-38 SMGs and Luger pistols. The Outriders would carry Kar98k rifles, with the Champion armed with a sniper variant.

The steam tanks would be modeled like Panzer IIs, although modfied to take into account the turret is a flamethrower and the hull is the main cannon. A tank spotter on top would have an MP-38 SMG.

Am I getting into the wrong game?

Yes. Steampunk is essentially as technological as you can go, and even that can push it.

Maybe you should look into a game like Flames of War if you want to do a Panzer army, it's just about as expensive as Warhammer and there's far more back story :P

Ha...I might as well play Brikwars or whip out Rogue Trader. So nix the first Wehrmacht Cavalry Brigade...I'm thinking instead of doing an army based off of Cathay or Araby.
