Default Fav Skirmishers

What's your favorite Skirmisher unit and why. I want to know. And so do other fantasy people(I think).

Mine would have to be Waywatchers

First off. They're Wood Elves. Any unit shooting at them suffers a -2 to hit modifier! They can start within 10" of an enemy out of sight! Or just stay 12" away and snipe away. Lethal shot is just brialliant! Bye bye knights of NEE!

"Here be skinks" ;D

The skinks are simply good: cheap, fast, core units(!) and they have (gasp) ranges poisonous weaopons. In the 6th edition 100% lethal, now tuned down a little (as all skirmishers) but still hard hitting and even harder to overcome.

But as I sold my entire lizardmen army over a year ago and started dwarfs I have not fielded any skirmishers for a long time. Even my scouts are now regiments of well armored grumpy dwarfs with big axes ;D

Beastherds.

Skirmishers-plus, as they get rank bonuses, plus shooting hits are distributed amongst the "runy-gors" first (saving the big bad "true-gors" for comabt), plus with the right General, can Ambush (think "Reserves" from 40k, only with cool table entry rules.) Plus they're children of chaos!

Dryads - they are hard enough to hit an enemy unit head on (with proper flank support to break the enemy) and they have great defense's as well.

Well, I think the BEST, are Dryads. Great Strength, great Toughness. A decent armour save, causing fear and not all that many points. They are amazing. I collecet Wood Elves but very rarely use Forest Spirits.

My favourites of Dogs of War Duellists with Pistols, just because they are really cool!.

Wardancers, or maybe Warhawk Riders. Both are very cool, and no one has mentioned them yet. :P

I don't think we should count flyers. But they're wood elves so I'll make an exception.,

Well, they operate exactly like skirmishers, so why not?

Top five? Well here we go:
After skinks there is no particular order of preference....

Skinks
Dryads
Skaven tunnelteams
Gors
wardancers

I did not include uits that move like skirmishers, but are flyers or monsters...like bretonian flying cavalry, Teradon riders or salamanders.
