Default Kislevites

I can't help it. I LOVE horse archers.

Its Medievil total wars fault. They let me play as russians. I was thinking of having an allied conginent with my Slayers, then I had a few more thoughts. Among them was "Use the Empire list to help you make a themed russianesque army". Think of it....horse archers, Kossars (woodsman with bows <grins and rocks back and forth&gt, steppe cavalry (Winged Lancers) and Boyars (Empire Knights/gryphon legion). Dammit, I've been bitten.....Ok.

<looks wildly around for a book that will tell him the stats/points cost of an elector count>

Oh, Wargamer.....do you reckon 2 points a model is about right to give heavy cavalry bows?

Medieval: Total War let me assassinate the Pope.

It's alright to be bitten by it...Medieval was the Warhammer game that never got made.

2pts/model? If they have a 4+ save or better, I'd say 3pts or even 4pts...2pts for a cavalry model with a heavy save is a bit low :P

3 points then...I'd go up to four points if the horses had barding. MUST GET ICE WIZARDS!!!!

Ahem.

Um, the cost of a bow for a regular human on foot is about 4 points.

So heavy cav should be paying 4 or even 6 points for bows.

Yes, but this assumes that you are replacing a lance or shield (or both) to get it and that's why it's a couple of points lower (1 for the lance [it would be 2, but I assume you have a spear anyway] and 2 for the shield). Could be more if you look at it in isolation, but I like the idea of heavy cavalry with bows and spears costing about the same as those with a lance and shield. It's a real loss to take them then, but one which can give you nice opportunities (or your fix if you're addicted to them).

They may be heavily armoured compared to lighter horse archers, but they're not Fast Cavalry so there is a big loss in that as well.

Ok, I reckoned that if I dropped the lance entirely, and gave them bows which they swap to sword and shield while entering combat (they don't have barding anyway, else I'd drop that) the points cost wouldn't change, or at most go up by 1 or two points per model.

A bow is worth +4pts per model on infantry. Cavalry can be tricky... for heavy, I'd be inclined to go as high at +6pts per model.

I dropped the lance to give them bows, so that is part of the reason I dint stack it super high.

Are you not using the Kislevite supplement already out there for Fantasy?

(They have a list for Warmaster too, if you're interested...)
