How about January 29th (Friday) through to the 1st of Febuary (Monday) as dates for the meetup?

Basically we could do the same as we did last time:
Friday > Travel to Notts. Some of us meetup and have a few beers etc and generally socialise etc
Saturday > Gaming day. Spend the day gaming
Sunday > Relaxed gaming day. Again spend the day gaming
Monday > Game some more in the morning and then leave to return to home (depending upon distance etc)

Of course, you guys don't need to attend all the days or anything, but that's probably what I'll be doing.

Since we've got over five months before this happens, why not start planning things now. For example, you could say that Saturday morning was for casual gaming whereas Saturday afternoon could be for a massive multiplayer game for which you've written up a scenario and rules for months in advance?

Perhaps we could also get info on what armies and how many points.

This time it will give me a reason to actually build my models :

So, say, we state that there will be a massive multiplayer game on the Saturday afternoon. If you sign up for it you'll need to bring 2000 points of your army along. You have until October 31st to sign up listing your army type.

How would that work as an example? It's around 2 months from now, giving enough people time to know whether or not they'll make it and it's around 3 months to the event giving the organiser enough of a chance to work out sides, rules, scenario and balance things up.

Edit: Dang, my 1000th post. How time flies...

Depending upon numbers who are attending etc, I think 2k points may be a bit much for a megabattle and would probably take all of Saturday to fight a battle between ~12 players with 2k pts a piece. 1.5k/player is certainly do-able in 5 hours (after lunch ).

As for finding out which armies people will be bringing, we could ask that as they sign up and formulate potential teams a few months in advance.

Something I've done on my local club's forum for Apocalypse and Legendary Battle games is to give each team a private forum so they can discuss tactics and army lists in advance. Could we get the chance to do that here on TO too?
