Default Scratch-built Trygon

Hello folks! It's been a while since I posted on the forums, but those of you who remember me, don't worry I'm alive.

So, this one day my friend calls me and says that he wants to build something. I asked what, he said anything. After a while of painful thinking we figured we'd make a harpy for my tyranid army. We seemed to have all the bits we needed, so we got together and started building the beast. In some 20 mins or so the friend of mine mentions he forgot the wings he had to another city (where he studies). Followed a minute of silence and then I said: "We shall make a Trygon!"

We got the monster put together in a few hours. Basecoated it yesterday and today I finally managed to paint it. All that remains is the base, which I will make after this post.

I regret to say that I failed to get a camera to document the building/painting process, BUT I will be getting a camera tomorrow and will upload pictures of it as soon as possible.

Be warned! This was my first 50% greenstuff 50% random bits and pieces monster so it's nothing compared to the GW version. Still I wanted to share this with you guys.

Over and out.

Okay, so now I have the pictures and as soon as I can pick the least blurry ones, I will post those here.

About the miniature: It is around 2 inches taller than a carnifex, so it's quite small for a trygon but hey, we ran out of green stuff Also I realize that a trygon is not supposed to have two deathspitters. I have two reasons to why they are there: 1) the idea was to make a harpy at first (and then mod the deathspitters into venom cannons), 2) when we thought we'd make a trygon the hands were nicely already on the model and I figured it looked better with them on (besides now it actually looks like it can fire off 12 shots a round).

The parts we used are roughly these:
- 1 packages of green stuff
- carnifex bits
- warrior bits
- gaunt bits
- natural sand
- static grass
- fantasy swarm spider legs ( for he head antennas)
- olive can lid (for the base)
- metal wire (making up the skeleton of the green stuff body)

Beginning the picture posting any minute now...

Luckily it's not too hard to register...and thanks, the next one I make will most definately be more flawless than this one (for example didn't paint the 3rd set of eyes cause I was in a hurry but it's taken care of now). But I guess it's fine for a first try

That is exactly what makes it challenging

very cool model. i'm not sure if the larger talons or deathspitters were a wise choice aesthetically, but the thing looks bad ass.

why does it have deathspitters exactly? according to the codex, trygons cant take deathspitters...
cool model nonetheless, just saying why deathspitters?
