Not really looking for advice here, as I took ages to nut this list out, and really did give it careful consideration.

Yeah, sure. Just in a different thread mind you, so's we don't all get confused.

The Broodlord in your list has extended carapace which gives him a 3+ save, not 4+. He starts with a 4+. Also, because you have a retinue of genestealers w/ 4+ saves giving him a 3+ save is kind of pointless.

Also, note that many weapons that can break a 2+ save will wound on a 2+ anyway w/ T7. I'd recommend dropping the Broodlord's 3+ save and the T7 on your Carnie and giving regeneration to the Carnie instead! I saw a Carnie w/ regen. play a couple of weaks ago and (not exagerating) it sucked up 9 wounds total.

I know you weren't really looking for advice. But, I noted the one mistake there. Figured I'd point it out.

Regeneration is uber-cool, but IMO (keeping in mind I haven't actually tried it), not that practical (not much chance for the points you spend).* You, on the other hand, think otherwise I take it?

The T7 is actually, and shamefully, mainly for a specific player who always smacks me down with Bloodclaws and powerfists.* I always get snapped in one round.* Plus it means flashlights, Tau, Eldar (hey banshees.... >) cannot touch you.* Which is just cool.* *;D

its the strength 5 weapons that are the problem

but banshees cannot touch you - hurrah!

It's the majority save rule from shooting. Your squad is still 4+ so you're not saving against AP4 or lower weapons. And most likely you will never get to make that 3+ save unless all your retinue is killed or some fool actually gives you a wound in hth. But if you think your broodlord will lose his retinue very quickly on a regular basis then he might need the extra save.
