So through my purchase of a Tyranid army I received a 3rd ed. Hive tyrant, and personally I think the thing looks terrible! I have no problem with converting it, so any suggestions would be awesome, and Selling it is also an option. I doubt many would chose that old thing in comparison to the new one. Any advice is welcome, thanks in advance!

It could be an alpha warrior from the new codex.

That's the metal one with the Lash Whip, Bonesword, and Venom Cannon, right? If so, given the new rules, that should be a pretty decent Tyrant to field as-is.

no, the 3rd ed one don't have lash whip or sword. Personaly i love the 3rd ed tyrant. It works perfectly for any tyrant ruleset.

Well, if i had to fix the model in an way, i'd want to make the head smaller and make him just a little bulkier. So any suggestions for that?

Are you sure it isn't this one?

If it is the latter, then Sid's suggestion seems like a pretty solid one. You could also burn it in protest of bad model design. I hated that tyrant. It's the Nagash of 40K.

So much hate for my old favorite Tyrant.

I'm sure you wouldn't have trouble selling it on eBay if you wanted to. There are plenty of collectors that look for the old or outdated models and I'm sure there are others who dislike the new Tyrant and prefer the older one. :P

It's just the head that kills it for me, it wayyyyy too big! if i were to sell it, how much should i sell it for? if i clean it up and strip all the paint off?

Unfortunately I'm not any help on your pricing issue, though I'd imagine it'd sell for a little less than the average Tyrant. Check other's prices on eBay and mark appropriately.

I've always liked the head. Makes me think of the queen in the Alien movies.
