Default Spinegaunts

Reading the codex says spinefists are carried in pairs by Tyranid for close-quarter fighting.

Does this add the two weapon close-combat rule to gaunts carrying them? In other words a second attack for having two weapons in cc.

When you put it that way they should get an extra attack in hand to hand. I'll reveiw my book for the answer. But as far as I know they don't get the extra attack and the spine fist is concedered to be one weapon for the purpose of being twin linked. Like I said before I'll look it up. But from memory I don't think so.

Scything Talons are the only weapon biomorph that grants an additional attack in close combat.

Also, on page 42 or the BRB, it says under "Fighting with two single-handed weapons":

"Two normal close combat weapons: These models gain one bonus attack."

Furthermore, the twin-link rules ALWAYS state the the twin-linked weapon is, in fact, a single weapon for shooting purposes (but remember that the Tau XV suits' twin-linked weapons count as two weapon systems for the purpose of reaching the limit of 3 systems per suit and this also requires a multi-tracker to be able fire two weapon-systems if I am not mistaken).
