Hey /tau/, this question is for some of the older players of 40k.

I was looking at some pictures of 3rd edition Tyranid codexes, and noticed that there are two different covers. The first resembles the older 3rd edition codexes, but the different looking codexes resemble "2nd release" version of other codexes--that is, the border is slightly different, though it has the same cover art.

Does this mean that there was also a "2nd release" 3rd edition codex for Tyranids (there were updates)? Or did they just change the cover art slightly?

The difference is the border, and the release dates.

The only difference might be a couple of rule clarifications and/or typos. Other than that I doubt much changed.
