Default Appropriate Number of MC's

How many MC's would you guys say is appropriate for the following brackets? My LGS is starting up an escalation league, and I was wondering how many MC's I could "get away with" to avoid being labelled cheese. Personally, I disagree with limiting Carnifexes--it says they have armies of pure MC's in the codex--but sportsmanship counts for winning overall.
My take on this:
1. 1000 points - (1 HT/1 Fex)
1. 1500 points - (1 HT/2 Fex)
1. 2000 points - (1 HT/3 Fex)

As a Tau player... I don't generally like seeing more than 3 MC's.

I love so many of the other Tyranid models and abilities that it seems a shame to rely on too many MC's. Personally, I think Lictors and Zoanthropes are very cool.

You're a Nid player. Anything you play and win effectively at will be determined Cheese! I'm sorry that they don't enjoy having Carni's thrown at them at such a low point level but if they're prepared for it they can successfully defend against it. If they aren't then they'll declare you cheese. They'll also freak out on you if you play an all warrior army, do a Genestealer army. But I will say I do tend to keep the 1 MC per 500 pts.

Heh heh, I keep my MC's in 1750 points at 7. Mainly because I spent the money to go zilla >.<

Don't make such sweeping generalizations about other players.

I am perfectly content with fighting tons of MC's if I am given notice, but against other general take-all-comers lists, it's not in the spirit of the game to expect everyone to have the capabilities to destroy 6+ MC's. I will say that four, under these circumstances is perfectly fine though.

Taking into account how he is limiting himself to four, if his group of players knows that he runs the Nidzilla lists normally, then they should accept the limits he has given himself, since they are pretty reasonable (especially since the players know what to prepare for in an escalation campaign).

Sorry for the generalization but it seems every time I walk in to play I get accused of running cheese and I'm running a pretty decently varied army. 3 carnis and 1 HT at 1500... (2 CC's, 1 Sniper, 1 Winged HT) I'm already over it (and I just started).

I would say 3/4 is solid at 1500 points. Lower, try to curb yourself to no more than 2/3 with fexes and tyrants. Every 500 so points is good for a MC to avoid the cheesy label, most times you can get away with a little more. Really depends on your opponent. Some people don't care, others will flip out.

Play with what you enjoy. If you consistently destroy your enemy every single time, switch up the list to give yourself more of a challenge. Don't rely on Nidzilla armies to win, but don't let others discourage you from running as many MC's as you want.

I think that's fair. That's how I determine how many Leman Russes I should take at these point costs.

Well The only reason I see why people call zilla lists cheesey, is the sheer amount of points you can pump into your heavy fexes, but they don't want to listen to the fact that almost 50-60% of your points went into them if you did buff them out. They are made to be our tanks since we have no vehicles ourselves and Nids also lack high strength weapons, or weapons capable of taking on a vehicle.
