Default Gaunts extended Carapace

Just in the middle of building my first box of gaunts and was wondering how you model the extended carapace on a hormagaunt. I've tried placing the parts on the model in a few places but I think it looks a bit overpowering on a small model. :-\
I would like to see some other peoples just to see if what I was doing was correct or if there is a better way, cheers

I do believe that the sprue comes with a little extra piece of chitin that you can put on the model someplace to represent that.

USAFTACP is correct. I like to place the extra bit on one of the shoulders. This link shows Extended Carapace on the shoulder of a gaunt.

Looks like I was on the right track then, thanks for the help but I'm going to go without the extended carapace, looks to much like its an add on and not something that naturally grew if you catch my drift

Don't forget that armour saves affect assault results as well, not just shooting.

True but it's like having a guardsman's save. How useful is that? And it makes the gaunts 1 point more expensive each. =shrugs= just not my cup of tea i guess.

This is somewhat related...

How the heck are we supposed to model the stuff that's doesn't have bits? Like "Bonded Exoskeleton"? There used to be a bunch of hobby articles on them but with the new GW site, they've disappeared.

It's really just left up to our imagination. The article on GW had Bonded Exoskeleton represented by Green Stuffing muscle and bulk underneath the exoskeleton to make it look more... bonded to the body.

Psh, those are my favorite biomorphs. Cuz I can just tell my opponent they're there and not have to worry about WYSIWYG :P Most people are pretty cool with you just telling them what something is, it's when you get into weird circumstances (yeah, this chainsword is really a powerfist... forgot to tell you before your Carnifex charged in...) that people can get ticked.
