Default Tyranid kill-team question

so, as the topic suggests, I'm going to do a tyranid kill team (for all those who remember my Alien-theme nid convertion will know my goal!).

my question is. Gaunts. how does the lack of synapse affect them in kill-team? because if they still have to take LD tests at their already low LD, I'm going for pure genestealer kill team.

I'd imagine Synapse still affects them. It would surely promote Vanguard-style kill-teams rather than Gaunts and Warriors, which is very unfluffy.

i just wondered because i saw this kill-team using gaunts. i think it was hive-fleet moloch. but i think i just aim for pure genestealer kill-team then. all converted in the glory of Aliens of course!

Genestealer would represent Xenomorphs better in my opinion anyway. Gaunts are so frail for the job... :P

i wanted to have some hormagaunts as representing the smaller "runner" aliens, also known as dog-alien from alien 3. but I'm going to expand this kill team into a combat patrol size force later on,i can use them then

Will there be terrain to hide behind? If so Raveners could even be good for the job. Genestealers are nice to.

Does your Alien models look kinda like Dakkaflyrants AVP models.

raveners? kill team don't allow anything but single-wound models i think. however for my 500pts list, maybe


my kill team list is currently 8x genestealers with acid maw. thats exactly 160pts

Acid Maw? That sounds like a very fluffy biomorph for Aliens.

yup. it was my thought. aswell as re-rolling failed wounds in the first round of combat is quite good.

Oh I want aware of not being able to use two wound models for kill team. I never play kill teams.
