Default Splinter Fleet Arugula - a lighter side of tyranids

Something a little fun on a Friday afternoon. What do you think, should the arugula fleet become a full-fledged invasion force?

Likewise here are some WIP conversions of older 'nids. The goal is to integrate them with a 3rd edition force (hence the new heads) and to give them a slightly more organic look. C&C welcome...

Dude, splinter fleet Arugula most definately needs to flourish, head out, commune with their fellow life forms and take swills from their organic liquids! Awesome fluff for it too, especially scabiegaunts.

Looks great to me. Interesting how just a simple head change can update the models so well.

I really love your idea of using both 3rd and 4th edition models in your army.

How did you paint those things? Did you use 2 colors of car spray paint or what? :P

Actually my 100+ model horde has all been airbrushed. I started with a gloss finish but have since reverted back to a matte finish... much improved. Considering they are all painted with at least three colors, fully based, and finished... pretty good for such a massive horde.

BTW what part of constructive would you consider the above comment to be?

I am sorry, it was not constructive at all, I just commented it because the painting seemed as if it was done like you needed them painted in an extreme hurry, especially the gaunts.

I think Splinter Fleet Arugula should flourish.

Although, your scabiegaunts make me think of chiggers. Fun fact about chiggers, they burrow under the skin, lay eggs, and make it red and itchy. Also, the target the groin area of people.
