Default Genestealers and Extended Carapace

Hey all,

In the Tyranid codex under the Genestealer entry it says Biomorphs with a *, can only be taken once. Extended Carapace, which give +1 to it's current armour save(starting at 5+), does not have this. Then, can be repeatable taken to give a 2+ save(though costing 192 to give it to a full squad of genestealers)? But, then by that logic could it not be given a 1+ save? I apologize if this is a commonly asked question.

Hi,

The asterisk indicates that only one out of all of the asterisked options can be taken - e.g., you cannot have Acid Maw and Feeder Tendrils.

You cannot take any biomorph more than once - so you can only get it down to a save of 4+

Also you are not able to get a +1 save. Such a thing does not exist, and rolling a one for an armour save, means you take a wound.

Actually, did the 1+ actually exist? The only real difference was that you got your armor save from AP2 weapons, but not AP 1. That was the difference. In second edition anyway.

Second ed didn't have AP. The strength of the weapon modified armour, same as fantasy.
