I thought it would be interesting to have everybody's input on this, because everybody keeps asking what kind of list to use etc., and I thought it would be better to have it all condensed into one topic instead of 5 different topics.

When you post, also please post your list that you use that you voted for, preferably have them be battle tested so that we don't have a whole bunch of untested lists uphere for everybody to look at and ponder what you were thinking.

I personally think that I would prefer a warrior army, because the idea of dealing with 70+ gaunts bores me, I have a godzilla army right now and it's not that fun to play with. Sure, you win a lot, but playing is just boring. A ripper list also sounds fairly cool, but it isn't tournament legal, but I thought it would be incomplete without the option up there. Look at the malanthrope post for more details and links for stats on the malanthrope and the broodnest.

I sadly haven't gotten much of a chance to test out my warrior list, so I don't have a list to post because, once again, I'd rather not have a bunch of untested lists laying around up here.

If anybody has some good balanced lists, please post them. I've never seen that many, which leads me to think that a) there aren't any good ones b) enough people aren't playing them.

Humm... What do you consider balanced list-wise for Nids? Did you mean a measure of MCs, medium ones and small gribblies or rather a balanced mix of melee mincing and shootiness?

Balanced as in not really any of the others. A couple MCs, some groups of gaunts, and some warriors/genestealers. Essentially just something that doesn't fall under one of the other categories for some other reason. So if you use a godzilla list with 3 CC fexes as heavy support, but your elites are shooty, it's still a godzilla list, not a balanced list.

So to answer the question as concise as possible: a balance between sizes of monsters (IE, not 40 warriors, not 6+ TMCs, not 70+ gaunts)

Yes horde is a swarm army, and also my favourite army by far.

I've realised that nothing quite has the same effect as placing 76 models on the board in a 1500pt game.
Of course when I get a lot more Gaunts it will be far more than that because i have an idea which will outnumber everything except a pure gretchin army.

However I won't post my idea up here. I'll let you know how it goes once I've used it.

Anybody got a good, battle-tested horde list to post? I've never seen a really good one, people always post lists that use <50 models.

Horde lists are the greatest... sriously hard to fight them.. :-\

I say horde. Thier just so cool looking. I like balanced as they're a great army but hordes are so fun to watch.
