Sorry but all gaunts in the same brood have to be armed identically. I believe the same oes for genestealers but i'll have to check on that. And a hive tyrant with venom cannon and scything talons is not really a good idea IMO. If you take him into combat the venom cannon is useless and the scything talons become useless if you keep him away from combat. Also, scything talons do not affect the number of shots you get with a ranged weapon symbiote.

OK well there are a few major problems with this list here.
1) If you want input on how this should be changed you should include a points cost for the army so we know what the limits are. 2) The tyrant can't use both the warp blast and the VC in the same turn. One of these weapons is going to be useless each turn. I would drop one of them. Also, as waffly said you should focus you tyrant and carnifex on either shooting or CC. Any tyranid unit is much more effective when they specialize in a certain area. I personally like a flying tyrant that is built for all CC and a carnifex that is built for all shooting. 3) The warriors are good except, as before, I would change them to either all CC or all shooting. The mix of weapons here is OK because warrior broods can have different biomorphs. 4) All of your troop choices are illegal as they are. They all need to be totally revamped. Warriors are the only units that can take different biomorphs in a single brood. You can give a whole genestealer squad talons but you can't only give 4 of them talons. Same goes with the sacs. Same also applies to the hormagaunts and the gaunts. If you give a brood a biomorph each model in that brood has to have that same biomorph. 5) The carnifex is OK rules wise but as I said before you should specialize him in either CC or shooting he will be much more effective that way. |

Because of the numerous amounts of gaunts in your army, I would consider adding in another set of Warriors for their synapse value or investing in a Zonathing instead of the fex. Otherwise you might find it difficult to control the core sections of your army.

Also, your troops Genestealers should be listed in the HQ with the Broodlord, as a Broodlord without retinue is illegal. Beyond, that, everyone has already given you great advice!

Yeah all the above statements are correct if you want you can add another squad of warrirors with wings which will always keep up with your gaunts.

OK, a few points to make about this list:
1) drop the upgrades on those 'Stealers and put them in the HQ as the Broodlord's retinue. 2) drop the venom cannon in the warrior brood. 3) Give the Tyrant warp field not carapace, drop the venom cannon OR the warp blast. If you drop the venom cannon then drop the enhanced senses as well. 4) The gaunts all have to have the same upgrades and weapons. Just use basic hormagaunts + termagaunts. ( scything talons + leaping/ fleshborers) 5) Drop the regenerate on the 'Fex, also drop the ranged weapon and give him crushing claws and tusked. 6) With these extra points bulk up the hormagaunt squad to 15 and then get another brood of as many as you can get. The Broodlord will provide synapse for them, just try to keep your charges close to him in case you lose the combat. Follow these points and the points everyone else made, com up with a list based on the one above and post that so we can see if there's any way to improve it. Also, how many points is this list? Let me know and I'll post one of mine up for comparison. PS: 7) What raveners is everyone talking about? I see no Raveners in this list.

I made a comment earlier that warriors were the only brood that could take different biomorphs in the same brood. Phage said he thought that raveners could also. Then I replied that warriors could take different biomorphs only because it says they can in their profile and it doesn't say anything about it in the ravener profile.
It didn't have anything to do with the list just a side discussion. |
