Default ZONETHROPES leaders?

Well recently i started a new tyranid army still working on a name :well i have been thinking of adding zonethropes to keep all of my low moral squads together but then i thought about it, after all it does take up a HS slot but if used right can be quit handy but, it still takes up a slot after all i do have warriors but they should not keep my squads together their way to close combated, so i dont know how to keep my gaunts together and i dont want a hive tyrant and brood lords dont help...................... so i really need some help I'm pretty confused

Warriors should be decked out CC. They wil usually be keeping up with the guants, so no worrys there.

Zoans... yes, use them. Zoan w/ Syanapse and Warp Blast = Relife from fexes and Tyrants. Not to mention they can tank hunt and will suck 2 or three lascannon shots (due to synapse negating the instakill) They spread synapse and tear tanks, marines and termies apart.

I also recomend using a Tyrant.. if your having problems keeping the warriors up with the guants, A winged Tyrant should have no problem. Deck him out in CC. Get him Int, Str, WS, 2 pairs of Scything Talons, Wings and Warp Blast (for good measure, besides, one more tank hunter would be nice)

Im better off with a Zoanthrope im couldn't be bothered spending all those valuable points on a winged tyrant

well, a zoan will do the job of synapse, and if you give him warp blast... he might pick off a tank or a few guys.

But if you take a [glow=purple,2,300]Hive Tyrant[/glow] then you will have your synapse AND alot of CC chaos!

Zoans like all slow moving synapse creatures still have problems keeping the guants in line. My suggestion. Winged warriors or a winged tyrant. Since guants can fleet any foot slogging synapse creature will not be able to keep up. This goes double for hormagaunts. Once they leap, they're going to be out of range.

Then you're not going to be able to keep the gaunts in line. unless you just don't use their fleet and have them shoot instead, but hormagaunts can't shoot, so I strongly recommend a winged tyrant.

OK, the Zoanthropes don't need to keep up with the gaunts because of his infiltrating Broodlord.

I do recommend zoanthropes however my recommendation is to take 3, give them all synapse, give 2 warp blast and give the other catalyst to make sure your combat 'Fex gets his attacks just in case your opponent has something nasty up his sleeve.
