Sounds like theirs not much for experienced tyranid players. Ill be happy to offer what i can. Just ask. Ive enough experience to use any all tyranid models to their modt effective and some neat tricks to "agitate" your opponents and give you a major advantage.

Zoanthropes. Well worth their points but far to easy to kill. Must be taken in bulk (the heart of tyranid tactica).

First off a squad of 3 gives you a potential 3x S20-AP1 lance weapons. Ideal tank hunters. They do have a 3+ invulnerable which makes them vrty resiliant. Put them in a drop pod and theyll kill banebladeswithout much effort. As a bonus they have a 2nd psychic power you could trade for the telekenis, hope for the puppet master. Do that snd potentialy use that said banevlade/leman russ squad/ect and blast its oen allies 3times. Same or diffrrent targets too might i add.

You mean the 1st edition cenautre creatures? I wasnt around when they were played but IMO they were never realy niddy. Supposed slaves to an organsim that would better suited to harvest them for biomass. Tyranids dont use allys pr mercs. Their fluff just doesnt fit at all.

right? plus they had like normal weapons like flamers and power fists, its just to stand alone
