You are dropping more than a fourth of your points into 2 models. There's no way I'd give them a Heavy Venom Cannon plus two upgrades and wings.

Your army seems like a one trick pony to me. Keep in mind Broodlords with Aura won't effect the Doom's power until the enemy player's shooting phase.

Well you could get scything talons for your broodlords with the 12 extra points. Are there not 10 point guns for a pod? You could get that and a pair of scything talons for a broodlord do not have codex with me at the moment.

The hive tyrant is really expensive...

Yeah, I know. It might seem like hellova lot, but its the stiching that holds this army together.

Plus, I've only ever had 1 die at most during a game. Its move of a support character, really. I'm not sending it at fists or anything. And I know the Aura doesnt affect it until the next turn, but thats not really the point. If I get 2 BLs in combat I -Ld then if theres anything that I dont want swinging, I gaze it at -1Ld to my 10. Like... If I assault a Ctan!

If I took off the Heavy VCs, what would you suggest for the extra 62 points?

Larger stealer squads and then scything talons for broodlords with the extra points.

The only other thing would be like a squad of 10 gargoyles deep striking in but would be an easy kill point.
The remaining two points can give a broodlord scything talons.

I only have enough points for 3 more stealers, which is hardly significant.

The awful BS on the Pods is stopping me from upgrading them, but I guess template weapons would work, but I really don't like the "Hit closest enemy" thing.

In all honesty, the Heavy VCs were there because I could'nt think of anything to fill 62 points.

However with its low ballistic skill it could make for some awful scatters. For example if it scatters into your stealers. but it is only one inch but it may mean a lot more complete misses.
