1 Doom of the Malan'tai, Mycetic Spore - 130

Everything is in reserve for the first turn. Then, turn 2 everything comes in on a 2+. I deep-strike the Doom of the Malan'tai very aggressively, trying to get as close to enemy units as possible so in the shooting phase I can steal their souls. The Tyrants deepstrike near where the Ymgarl are hidden, to give them Preferred Enemy, and make their target WS1. The genestealers spend about a turn closing in while you are distracted by the Doom, 2 tyrants, and 2 units of Ymgarl.

Comments? Concerns? All input is welcome.

Tyrant, all Jump Infantry can Deep Strike. Page 52 of the rulebook, end of the 'Movement' paragraph.

As for the list... I'll kill it next time, Goliath. :P

Ah, I overlooked it. I didn't see a section in the codex like there used to be regarding Wings and deep striking.

What powers are on your tyrants? I know paroxsym is on their but you need to choose another power golaith.

I could see a problem against fast moving skimmers as there is not much shooty antitank.

that is a lot of genestealers I am wondering how you would win against 180 ork boyz or other hordes as you do not have that many attacks.

Do the tyrant's +1 to reserve rolls stack? The IG Officer of the Fleet's ability was FAQ'd to not stack, so I would expect his ability to follow the same precedent. The IG FAQ states that the benefit of having two is that you can still benefit from the ability after one dies, but they do not stack.

Here's hoping that does get FAQ'd as well because an entire DS army arriving turn 2 is pretty insane.

Good question and certainly in need of a FAQ. And yes, Wu is right, Goliath, you get 2 Psychic powers per Tyrant. I, for one, enjoy the wound leeching ability but I could see Psychic Scream complimenting your Broodlords very well. With the cumulative Aura of Despair, I could see a beautiful 5th ed Psychic Choir. ;D

Aura of Despair is in the assault phase. The Horror is in the Shooting phase. That won't work

I think Paroxysm + Leech is what they will have.

@Wu about 180 boyz:
I make them WS and BS 1, and then they cant really hit me enough to do damage. 5's and 5's don't yield good results. Especially against really fast units with a really good WS. I will defiantly beat you in CC.

Also, I'm guessing this army of 180 boyz doesn't have any transports? The Doom of the Malan'Tai will have a field day.
