Default Materials for walls

Hey You Guys (and Girls)

Because of the strict environmental-laws in Denmark, it is not allowed to buy or sell foamboard, so I have found another material for use in buildings. It is called pasta-oat or funky foam (In Denmark the danish would be translated to Mossrubber ;D). It is very flexible and VERY easy to cut with a sharp knife. Try it out. I think You can buy it in any hobbystore.

Offcourse-BTW it is called Plasta-Zoat, not Plasta-Oat ;D

The miniature is a XV15 for comparison. As you can see it is very flexible and very easy to cut.
The Two-Story building was made i approx 1 hour and it took another hour to add a Glue/Plaster/Sand layer to harden the material and give it some texture. I added electrical wire to the walls to imitate steelwire. I think it will take maybe another 2 hours to paint it, and all in all it will take about a day to make the building (10-12 hours), with the drying-time in mind.

That looks very interesting, I looked up the name and it is used for a wide variety of applications. I have never seen nor heard of it here in Canada. I will have to look around and see if it is available anywhere.

I like the look of that.

I must find out where i can get some. Does it melt down if you spray paint it though?

It doesn't melt if you paint it, nor if you use superglue. I think only heat will melt it, I have read that with a heatgun you can mold and shape it. I haven't tried it though.

I tried typing "Funky Foam" in Goggle and it came up with a great number of hits. A number of online stores sell Funky foam but many off them doesn't tell how thick the foam is. It comes in both 2mm and 6mm thickness (I use 6mm).
