Well.... I honestly don't know what I was thinking here, but my river was an awful flat blue, so I mixed up some dark green ink and PVA glue and filled the river in with it. You can't tell from the pictures, but it looks pretty good. Not GW standard, but there you go. :-[
![]() My lake.... Slander please! ![]() Bit of river... Ooh, awful! Anyway, more pics on demand, tutorial same, but it's really straightforward.

It looks pretty good. My biggest issue with it is that the surroundings don't quite look right; the banks seem far too angular and there is no river bank so to speak (it's just a vertical green area). It looks just like water cutting through a field which generally doesn't tend to happen.
The river itself looks good, but filling in the little details will make it stand out.

I totally agree. I suppose that if I just cut along the edges the exposed wood would look like sand.

it looks really weird as u havnt slopped down the edges as it reaches the green water, so its just a drop into water, u need to thing abit more on detailing to rivers but still nice job on actually getting the water green

well me and my mate made a field a long while ago.
This is what we did: 1. Buy a good thickness wood to your own desire, you can build this however you like, but the easiest way to do this is buy getting one large thin piece of wood, the same size or bigger then your desire size for your wall table, and buy 4 thicker woods ( this will be used to build sides skirts ) - these 4 pieces have to be 4x the thickness of the flooring. 2. Stick the 4 thick pieces to the sides of the thinner piece to make a kind of entrapment</i> 3. To fill in the 3 other quarters of the entrapment with polystyrene - this will allow you to poke in any items you want. ( so anything you make -for example- mountains, make out of polystyrene so you can put a tooth pick into them and just push them into the flooring. ) 4. Now to construct the board, begin marking out on the polystyrene with a permanent marker, where you would like to place rivers, ponds etc. 5. Using a modeling knife ( or anything similar ) chop out the marked out sections, leaving dug holes. ( don't forget to make the rivers a decent size ) 6. Now begin detailing river banks, just removing small edges off the sides to make a ramp running from the water up. 7. If you get some pebbles or rocks from your garden or even go and buy some rocks for such things as a Hermite crab cage enclosure, these rocks MUST be small as you don't want them crowding your river. Scatter these pebbles or rocks, throughout the river and pack them up in spots, so when you put the river in it looks like their is something stopping the pebbles, also scatter them over the river bank to make it look realistic. 8. Using your way of making a river, if you use effects, pva glue and paint, whatever, using that filling.. well fill in the river. 9. Flock Your field with the flock you wish to use. 10. Paint flock if needed. 11. START PLAYING Hope This Guide somewhat helps you Copyrighting to Poppowwow Don't Steal Be Original!
