Thanks. I only used six ingredients. Two inch thick EPS foam, sand, elmers, paint, parraffin, and snow flocking from woodlands scenics. Simply cut the foam board with hot wire tools to create the frozen river and fissures. Overlay the foam board with a thick layer of Elmers glue and then sand. Let the sand dry for two nights and paint with a white latex paint. Then paint the coat of paint with a layer of watered down elmers glue. After that I painted the river section and fissures with a light blue using and airbrush. Also airbrushed the white areas with shades of grey to break up the uniform white look. Then melt the parraffin and pour into the fissures and frozen river sections. Once dry I mixed together some pva glue and snow flock to create about 1 cups worth of slush. I then hand placed gobs of white goo all around corners of crevices to give the snow a 3-d look. Also scraped some goo over the parraffin sections to make the surface of ice look more natural. Let that harden overnight. Once the parraffin is dry use your finger to press indentations on a few sections of the ice. This will create cracks that add to the realism of ice. Lastly I painted glue over the white surface and sprinkled heavily with the white stuff. I still need to decide what to do next to secure the snow permanantly. I think an overwash of the snow with a thinned layer of watered down glue will work to that effort. I think that is it. I am glad you guys like it.

Holy mother %@$&#@, that is one sweet board. I would suggest adding more variation, since its very flat ATM. Adding some snow dunes, maybe bogged down vehicles, and maybe an oil refinery or mining operation for a nice objective in games.

You can tell it's a tau players board by the HUGE amount of cover. Are the sections fixed in place or are thy moveable?
