Hey guys, I'm wondering how much people would be willing to pay for terrain pieces premade and prepainted to the standerds of most Games Workshop stores. The example in the above poll is a bunker, how much would you be willing to pay for a premade bunker? What other types of terrain might you buy from a terrain supplier?
Thanks, Aun Le'Keth

I got my vote in. And yes I wouldn't mind paying for some premade, prepainted piece of terrain...saves me the trouble to do so and did notice a few good piece on eBay (but no money then) which would have been great.
Obvioulsy the size, quality of the terrain and it's painting would affect how much I'd be willing to fork (Here i put the price for a descent/good average item)

Why is the honest answer it is so easy to make your own terrain it really doesn't beg the question. The hardest bit about making terrain is embarking on the build in the first place. Plasti-card, Polystyrene and lots and lots of matchsticks are your friend.
If you want rocks/cave/hill invest some money in flour salt and water to make salt dough and build the most marvelous complexes before baking in the oven. It s not really hard. Having said that I would buy 'Terrain Sprees' containing extra 40k bits for about a fiver (£5). Trouble is its often quite hard to '40k-fy' your terrain once it is made with all the extra 'bits' you want. Genmotty

I'd personally take a look at the bunker and just make myself a replica .... but if i had to pay ... i would do it around 20 dollars.

Depends really.
Is this stuff made specifically for 40k? What extra features does it have? (ie, for forests, removable trees) What's everything made of? |

It's hard to say really without seeing what you're selling. I don't usually buy anything sight unseen.

I would pay a few dollars for it. I would proally try to make it look better. I mean it poorly might need some weathering or other things done to it. I also would put dirt stains on the floor and other things to a bunker.

Depends on size, quality, what kind of m iniatures it can fit, the painting levelon it and all that good stuff. If it was really nice, twenty bucks or more.

Quite frankly, as said above, it depends on a lot of factors... But if it lives up to a purely average piece yet still superior to my own, I would pay a maximum of $15 AU.

Well I use to fall into the camp of why buy what you can make. However growing up and taking on responsibilities far more important than warhammer has led me to look into premade, pre painted terrain simply because it saves a lot of time. I spent a lot of time painting my models and making the odd terrain piece now and then so if I see something premade and pre painted of high quality, I will buy it. Sometimes instant gratification is necessary!
As a guideline price, I would pay, for a bunker appoximately 12 by 6 inches, £25 (US$50) as an absolute max, but it would have to be very good.
