Default Dioramas/boards

+++Hi, soon I am getting my trench system off FW. I have prepared extra bits and a foam board to cut into. Hopefully, when it is finnished, it will be quite impressive... however it is not the fist dioramic board I have made. I was wondering what other peoples gameing boards look like. If they would like to post photos please do. I will send pics of mine when it is finnished. I look foward to seeing some!+++

Massive piece of advice...

Don't build down, build up!

I learnt that the best way to build trench terrain is to build section of trench as modules and then you can build as many diffrent trench systems as you want AND incorporate them into other boards.

As for building trench 'bits' matchsticks and paper + PVA glue + water mix paste stuff makes excellent mud and dirt and the match sticks give the IG feel to the whole thing. Throw in some bunkers and 40k bits and you've got yourself more trench then you can ever want.

Just to let you know a standard parallel trench board with a no-mans land is no fun to play on IMO because it stagnates into a shooting match for both sides. Not that much fun at all.

Especially if you're a CC army like Orks. Charging entrenched gun lines is suicide, plain and simple.

Sure would be fun if you used the sustained assault rules though; orks or tyranids would be perfect for this!

++++I definately didn`t want a strait line. Anyway that would waste the triangular joining bits. I am also using extensive use of razor wire.+++

That would be interesting and fluffy! I want to do this now with my 257 IG list... I just need that many models....

This is off topic, but why do you always put '+++' before and after your posts? :-X

Because it looks cool, just like Imperial Transmissions..

Looking forward to see how your board/diorama will come along, Sven!

Cheers.
