Default sprues & terrain

I just wanted to know your opinions on using left over sprues to make terrain. ive been working on a few pieces for the past few days, using tooth picks as pungee type spikes, straws as piped, and sprues as steel and metal beams and such like wreckage. Do any of you have any pics of anything like that? Ive been mainly priming them black and drybrushing mithril silver on over it ( the only shiny metallic paint i have) and it seems to be working out good. So have any of you done this? Ive come to find it a quick and easy way to make simple terrain, i have three to four pieces made in three days, and it looks like it will work out really well...

oh and I wasnt sure if this was already posted so I searched it real quick in the engine, and didnt find it so if it was dont bash me for not using the search engine :P

Grind them up with a meat grinder to make rubble

I like to glue them together and paint them a metal color. Makes nice, inexpensive terrain that doesn't look half bad. I mean, I'd much rather use them for something that makes my battles look better then just let them grow into piles on my floor that I end up stepping on.

Stepping on sprues hurts, don't let it happen, something you never forget. :P

Yeah, I've got some terrain where I've used them for bent steel studs sticking out of building walls. Mostly I cut them up for rubble. I'm going to post some of my cities of death terrain tomorrow so look for the thread to check them out.

Some good articles to look at if you are interested in using sprues for terrain.
