Default epic scale bord for 'Jurassic Park' diorama Help needed

Okay im a major Jurassic Park fan (the dinosaur movie) and have always loved the toys etc. Well ive started playing Jurassic Park Operation Genesis and watched the first two movies so I have alot of ideas floating about in my head. Now im about to go and buy some epic models (for a small scale 40k game (40k tactics)) and the idea inspired me to create a display board (36X24 inches I think) with epic sized like dinosaurs (ill probally use wire and greenstuff to make them). Now im not sure if the size is big enough to do a proper JP with cages so I was thinking maybe a lost world like one. Anyways ideas on what to do and what to include also style board feautres that I should use help is welcomed thank you.

Lots of trees. Maybe a few ruined buildings like in JP3 and that giant fence thing. You would probrably be better off in normal 40k, more detail. I know for a fact that the Lizardmen have trikes and rexs as minis. I don't know about epic though.

Well first off Jurassic Park is one of my all time favorite childhood movies. Seriously probably the movie that had the biggest impact on me when I was younger, sad as that is.

I just REALLY LOVE Dinosaurs.

I think if you're gonna make this board go all out, make the park. Fences, roads, electric cars and all.

As for epic scale dinosaurs... well look at these:

The T-rex will definitley be useful, as will the Stegadons and teradons.

Salamanders, Kroxigor and Coldones can probably be turned into some more dinosaurs as well.

Like Dilophosaurus and Raptors.

With some putty and a bit of wire I bet a Kroixgor could make a good brachiasaurs even...

Post some pics when you're done.

Ah.. JP... was a huge fan of it awhile back, and still am, ever since I first saw the rex attack the cars. In the lost world when the adult T-rexs pushed the trailer off the cliff I was like WTF. Can't wait to hear if the rumored 4th movie is coming out later this year lol. But I've also been wanting to have a small campaign with a few marines crash-landing on a abandoned jungle planet infested with dinosaurs lol.

epic had a very minimal release of Eldar Exodite dinosaurs, very few collectors have them, and are worth some decent money.

you could make it to scale for the best toy set you can find IMHO. figure out the scale and Midwest had a ruler that has notches to help you work with that scale keeping your sizing right.

if your going epic scale, your cages might be best made like a bok and paint black on the box to look like dark areas of the cage, the scale is soo small seeing something inside is a moot point.

GW's epic scale is 6mm, where thier larger warmaster scale is 10mm. epic is an oddball, but if you search other manufacturers you should find plenty of 10 mm manufacturers out there, it is a more popular scale due to more detail.

but you might do even better at 15 mm becaus eit is a more standard scale with historicals and the old dungeons and dragons skirmishes battles games.

best bet is find the figures you want ti use first and foremost, build that collection then build terrain to fit, eyeball it if need be.

Steve
