nice improvement from the rug, but here are som more ideas easier the the whole table.

ill offer some simple advice to make improvements that are easy but look great. so take it for what its worth.

never use card stock for bases, as you can see the warped base.
if you have a jigsaw (20.00 or less, pretty cheap) always use masonite. wont warp unless the base is freggin huge.

always use a texture paint, you can get a gallon of latex masonry paint with sand in it for 15.00 or less. i had my last gallon i just finished up for over 3 years. and i make more terrain than the average gamer. it will cover all the little beads which is the problem of using white foam.

use the textured paint even if your going to flock and grass the terrain. always paint it like your not grassing it, because when the grass wears off you dont want to see white, green or anything other than dirt, something that is natural and visually apealing.

easy way to get rid of the beaded look in white foam (do outside) take a lighter and lightly melt the foam, it will give a texture adn get rid of the little circles that the paint tends to pick up.

never use paint to hold your flock or grass.

those are a couple easy steps that make yopur terrain soo much better looking and is not really more expensive once you figure your terrain will last longer with the better bases and the masonry paint (wears well).

and once you get in the habit of making terrain for you and friends (who dont help thier friends make terrain) you wont consider these steps as extra, and friends are the easy way to buy the 20.00 jig saw, 8.00 sheet of masonite, and 15.00 pail of paint.

and they all last a while.

dont drybrush them silver unless they are metal. if your talkng about the GW building, they are stone. so drybrush them grey.

i personally think your landing apd needs more work but mostly with just paint.

i would have drybrushed it greys as well since most landing pads woulkd be concrete. but the decking could be metal. if you can get ahold of sheet diamond plate that would look good.
the yellow needs alot of cleaning up.

what about painting it all black (this is a piece that would benefit from textured paint) and then drybrush the whole thing grey.

paint the inner ring like you allready have yellow. and then make a chevron pattern all the way around in the yellow with black stripes so you have a black/yellow/black/yellow caution pattern. cheverons look good in 40K and would fit well here, the yellow stripe across the middle dont look good. put a large H or large L or something on it if you insist like a Helicopter pad of today. make that in white. a couple layers if done so so it wont be patchy.

just take some time at it and it will look better.

whats the piece glued down on the platform? if you could remove it and if you have some window screen cut it to fit the inside of the top, then cut a cardboard or plasticard circle about a 1/4 or 1/2" wide rim to fit in and cover the edge of the screen up. and that would give it some texture?
