1st: Take some wire mesh get it in the way you want your hill to look nail it to the board (assuming the battle field's base is a board)
2nd: Take paper pulp and put it over the mesh (let the pulp sock for 5 min) 3rd: Let the pulp dry, then paint over the pulp with any color you want And PRESTO! you have a hill ;D

I still favour the good old polystyrene hill, just set in my ways I guess (p.s. its cheaper ;D'

well from my point of view its really easy to make these hills it really doesnt matter how you do it just as long as you make a hill.
Styrofoam hills arent a good idea its a mess trying to make them. The easiest way to make them is buy styrofoam balls and cut them in half. Its much easier

every time i did it i completly messed up and upon that i made a really big mess that took a hour to clean up (okay maybe im not good at making styrofoam hills i just like this way better)

yeah each to his own, but I find that styro-hills are more durable (Ive broken some mache ones in my time ;D )

Styrafoam all the way, but there kinda hard to make. I really don't even use hills.

personally i prefer cardbord step hills.
@ AmericanWarMonger: what type of polystyrene were you using? if you had the stuff made up of lots of little balls it's impossible to stop it making a mess. use high density stuff instead. |
