Default Tau City... For Epic!

Hi All,

I've created an inspiring scenery for my Epic Tau.

The complete article, including additional hi-res pictures, how-to and architectural considerations, can be seen there:

Those are some really cool buildings, Kotrin. That's what I think a Tau city would look like. You're only missing one thing: an Epic-scale Godzilla! That would be awesome.

Awesome stuff there!

Welcome to Tau Online

Great site you've got there, the Black Unicorn is great, I made a dodgy attempt at doing a similar paint scheme for my hammerhead (chaos black + gloss varnish :S)

Allow me to be unimaginative and to echo the previous sentiments: Awesome stuff there!

Welcome to the boards, and good fortune in all your endeavours. And a special thank-you for some of the rants too, particularly the one with "Codex: Not-Marines" mentioned. More humor and more sharp wit is always for the better, I say!

Pleasure to welcome you aboard. Feel free to ask any questions, or chip in as the mood strikes...

Now I wish I still played Epic. Or could find those who played....

On the other hand, I played Epic Squats and Eldar...And most of my fights were won a single turn away from total obliteration. Hrm....

I am gobsmacked! What amazing beautiful pieces you have made from such ordinary things. I hope to see more of your work soon.

Well done! It does look distinctly Tau. The mix of smooth curves and delicate machinery, to use your words, echo the drone design and the sentiment of the Tau. Battlesuits don't have to be shaped anthropomorphically, but they are because the Tau can do that. Circuits don't have to be exposed, but they are because the Tau can protect them as well as if they were covered. They are both shown to impress with the complexity of inner workings, to show the complex underpinnings that work together to support a smooth, perfect building overall, and also darkened so as to not detract too much from the beauty of the curves.

Did you hand-paint the writing, or make stencils or something?

I also love codex: not marines, as you can tell from my sig.

Nope, those are Forgeworld decals. It's always a bit tricky to attach them to a curved surface, but I would never achieved such a stable output if I had tried by hand.

Yeah, I've noticed that! Well, it's rather GreenJello who deserves the credit...
