Default aun'shi with O'shovah

can aun'shi and O'shovah be used in the same army, because in the picture of O'shovah, him and O'shovah are together, but on aun'shi's special rule: price of failure it says every tau unit (excluding kroot and drones), yet O'shovah can't use kroot or drones. So what gives, can O'shovah be used in the same army as aun'shi?

They aren't together in the picture. That Tau is O'Shovah and behind him is his crisis battlesuit. You can tell because the armorless Tau is holding the Dawn Blade, and only O'Shovah holds the Dawn Blade.

About if you can use both, I presume you can't since Aun'shi is an Ethereal, but I'm not entirely sure.

Ethereal's are not allowed in a Farsight list, so this gets back to the argument of whether or not Aun'shi counts as an Ethereal. Good luck proving that one. :-\

This is what gets me. It says Ethereal Caste Members cannot be used. And since there is a unit called Ethereal Caste Member, it would technically mean that you can take Aun'shi. However, you could argue that he is a member of the Ethereal Caste and that you cannot take him. I believe you can, but it is arguable.

no etherials in a farsight army. aun'shi is an etherial. by definition, he cant be taken.

no is the answer.

Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperor's foes."

Can you prove that? Where in his rules (not the fluff!) does it say that Aun'Shi is an Etherial? It's true that he has all the same rules as an Ethereal (inspiring presence, price of failure, etc), but nowhere does it explicitly say he's an Ethereal.

Don't get me wrong, anyone who tried to pull that line on me during a game would get a "You've got to be kidding me" look from me... but I've seen people try it. I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here.

This is exactly my point. I believe it is, but the fluff makes it arguable.

I am going to have to go with the "Aun'shi is an ethereal, therefore may not be taken with O'Shovah.
