Default tanks

devilfish and hammerheads are great but which one is better overall, for points armour and BS etc. i prefer the hammer head bacause i prefer to use heavy supports and elites then pathfinders and fire warriors

The HH is overall the best tank. Just apply simple logic, you can get great guns on it. The Devilfish is good for transport but that's it ... if only you could replace the burstcannon for a plasma riffle :P

I'm not sure of this but ... I think the HH is the most point efficient tank in the game. OK it doesn't have the ability of indirect fire, but you have the ability to choose between a tank killing bullet and a troop killing bullet. And that's only the Railhaid, the Ionhead is super for popping marines.
The defensive weapons alone are bether than a DF.

Maybe you already figured this out but I'm not a fan of the DF, I find it's just to mush points for to little firepower. Also if my troops need repositioning they'll just walk >

Hammerheads and Devilfish are totally different vehicles, one is a battle tank used for taking out heavy troops, hordes, or other tanks - generally for causing havoc with its guns.

Whilst the Devilfish is purely a transport with a burst cannon for self defense, they cannot be compared for the same role.

As I say they are totally different and it is impossible to really compare them when their roles are totally different, and each work when used right in particular playing styles - topic locked.
