Just a question, how much of us like the Pulse Rifle as are main weapon?
(I don't even know the stats for it if someone could give them to me, I must have a outdated codex ) Poll is rating 1-10.

Pulse rifle:
Range / Strength / AP / Type
30' / 5 / 5 / rapid fire

Pulse carbine:
Range / Strength / AP / Type
18' / 5 / 5 / assault 1

Pulse rifle will always be better, never take a carbine its just not as good.

I don't think there is any other infantry weapon better than a pulse rifle.

You left out pinning for the pulse carbine and never take a carbine is too strong there are things in 40k that are worth taking them for if nothing else they present an easier more defensive way of fish of furying giving you 18 inch range instead of 12 sure your losing half the shots but on the other hand you don't have to park behind your devilfish and give away a 4+ cover save to prevent a counter assault so statistically it's the same thing but you gain pinning which i will admit is not very useful anymore.

so depends on what your using your firewarriors for and depends on what your shooting.

I actually field a small squad of six firewarriors with pulse carbines with emp grenades for dismounting and assaulting from my devilfish. Normally they dont do much but they have managed to throw a couple opponents off their game and made critical differences before (in 1 case wrecking a SM deepstriked dreadnaught using the emp grenades). Now my other 2 squads field pulse rifles because range and general use is just much better but for specialized assaults noone expects firewarriors to assault, especially against vehicles or dreadnaughts.

OCCASIONALLY i do this but i only do with pathfinders because i can outflank with the devilfish which is nearly always equipped with seeker missiles and i'll either have a second squad of pathfinders or skyrays on the other side of the field so i can launch those missiles into the back of enemy tanks and my pathies will potshot then assault with the emp grenades everything going well i can get two sometimes even three tanks doing this.

it tends to only really work against imperial guard since thier least likely to move their tanks allowing auto hits for the emp grenades

I usually steal my pathies devilfish to mobilize my carbine wielders.
