Default Tau FTW

Okay, so I play in a pretty populated area with a host of players. We only have on tau player and he pretty much sucks. I have read through the most of the codex, and see some lethal combinations that he either missed, or is unable to see.

Mythoughts on that to follow in a later post.
My question is about the models them selves.

I don't have access to his, but from the generalized look, a DFish, A Hhead, and SRay, are all the same? Minus turret options of course. Or lack of them for a DFish. If I am wrong please let me know, I am working out my budget and have an idea as to what my list will be, but if I can swap things out with a simple turret upgrade and such then that would be a bonus as I learn more and play ore with the tau.

Thanks
Garetek

OKay if you are looking or a cost effective way of getting into the Tau you will need:
2 Battleforce boxes
2 Skyrays (this kit contains everything to make either a skyray, a hammerhead or a devilfish. combined with the battleforces this gives you 4 flexible tanks)
5 Crisis suits (combined with the battleforces this gives you 7 crisis suits (2 teams and a commander))
Pathfinders (You can convert these quite easily from Fire Warrior)
That should cover all your basics and is about the cheapest way of getting started. Not to mention this is the units that you will probably use most often.

Yeah it depends on what you want i suppose i'm generally selling them for about half what you'd pay in a games workshop so that'll give you some ballpark figures on price most of it is built and based i can provide pics for anything you want to look at.

i was planning to paint them all and sell it as a complete army around the time the new codex comes out.
