Default 2v2's

What are your preferred races to pair with when you have the option of playing a 2v2 game of 3k total point 1500 a piece game? Also what is your army build list like and what is your partners, don't need to get specific just a broad overview of what your running is fine until clarification is needed

Tyranids. He goes gene stealers with Teutons and other goodies designed to get into them quickly. I pretty much supply the support, shooting over the advance

I don't really have a preference to who is on my partners is. however one time I was in a game with alot of players and I was teamed up with a guy that had Imperial guard, however recently I'd shot down and kinda destroyed that army, So it was a little wierd them being on my side!

I do like teaming up with a player that has an army that is actually enemies of my army, E.g. I had some CSM and I team up with some normal marines, which was kinda wierd.

We often play 2v2 or 3v3 in my group. Usually we try to set it up sort of a good vs evil (me vs everyone? _0 ) or atleast aim towards something like ''these could ally to fight against those'' or some other plausible explanation so Ive never actually tried allying with CSM or Tyranids. Its very important for us to keep it to viable allies

My preferred ally would probably be IG. They make wonderful meatshields and I dont have to worry about holding objectives because the IG player is a sucker for troop choices. (cant remember last time he had a fast or elite choice in his army however I remember him on multiple options complaining that 6 troop choices is not enough. his army looks very impressive though)

That would be awesome. Leaves you to field just 2 fire warrior squads (and actually use them for their fire power, instead of screens) or maybe Kroot (that can use the IG as screens so they don't get popped by their lack of save, then jump in and slash some guys) and spend your real points on 3 full squads of broadsides, in addition to the full crisis teams AND fill out your HQ, take two pathfinder teams with decked out fish, and either a Vespid team or Piranha squadron. Then, if you have points left over you could even throw in an Ethereal (with or without an honor guard, depending) for that morale boost you normally ignore. Alternatively, you could spread the points out for those upgrades you don't normally take.

Actually i once allied some orks with my tau and the enemy was IG and space marines, anyway the Ig lemen russ fired at my hammerhead and stopped it from moving. I was pretty miffed about this so next turn I turned on the landing gear and drove over to odd boyz (I think they were odd boyz, all orks look the same to me, which is green and big teeth) and one of the boyz fixed my hammerhead and I destroyed the lemen russ with a well aimed railgun shot!

I like those little moments when your allies give you a bit of help.

All tau vechiles have landing gear so if they are immobilized they can stop being a skimmer and move like a normal vechile, its very handy.

I love two man teams.

I have never lost when I have an ally.

They do the cc and I sit back and shoot stuff. Just the way it should be.

An immobilized result means the same thing for a skimmer that it does for a tank: you can't move.

How would you move around with no wheels, anyway?
