Default help finding an old thread

Sorry gang I know this drives some of your nuts but I have spent almost two hours looking for the old thread I read when I first joined that explained why Tau are not in fact doctrinally communists. Can someone please point me in the right direction or link me in again. Thanks.

Are one of these it

Why do people think Tau are communists?

The Tau Empire: Socialism or Communism?

marxist communism vs the greater good. the end all discussion!!

but more importantly why do people care if tau are communist COMMUNISM IS NOT BAD why Americans have such an innate fear of it is beyond me something could be the greatest thing in the world and all the republicans have to do is say it's communist to have Americans shit their pants in fear and vote against it.

Communism is the best system of government people are just too selfish and corrupt to implement it apparently we're too selfish and corrupt to even implement capitalism anymore maybe the tau are aren't.

and anyway they aren't communist this guy Khanaris has it right

The Tau use a rather complicated system.

"They are a two-level system consisting of an upper Hereditary Theocratic Oligarchy, with a lower Meritocratic Parliament.

The upper level consists of the Ethereals, who are born to the role, rule through "religion", and are relatively few in number. The lower level consists of councils drawn from the most able of all the Castes, chosen purely because of their ability, and they make decisions by consensus. As an overarching philosophy, the Tau practice Utilitarianism.

The idea that the Tau are Communists reveals a fundamental failure to understand either the Tau background or the concept of Communism. Unfortunately, this misunderstanding is a common relic of propaganda in the US about what Communism actually is. Since we don't have a good description of the Tau economy or industrial philosophy, we can not say whether they are Communists or not. The Caste system and the presence of the Ethereals suggests that they are not."

so if all your looking for is a way to say to your communist phobic friends the tau aren't communist lay that on them.

Thanks guys, that helps alot. Mostly I just give the local SM players (who are usually the ones commenting "the commies are here") a tired look with the basic retort of "ah and so speaketh again the unread, uninformed and uneducated byproducts of their sister-mothers and grandpa, shall we play". Though I should probably not wish to expand their understanding, as it most assuradly contributes to my lucky winning streak (they get mad and stupid), I do wish to see them not sounding as idiotic as they do. But hey guess its just my giving side...
