Default XV8 Heavy Weapons

lets get thinking now about how we could improve the xv8 with the addition of heavy weapons to their asenal. dont go crazy and try not to mimic other weapons profiles so no multi melta/ imperial RCL equivalents.

For Example: heavy version of a flamer
Deconstruct: anti infantry weapon used against unmechanised infantry with the purpose of inflicting a nearly certain deaths on any models hit. downside for tau is it involves getting within around 8'' to inflict any casualties.

Rng S Ap Type
18'' 4 4 Heavy 2, blast, Ignores Cover

projected points cost 10-15pts
(play testing would be needed)

Honestly, at least for the crisis suits... a melee weapon option. Some sort of plasma blade or something that could allow one crisis suit in a team to manually bring death to the enemies face. With a second member of the team carrying a flamer you might now have a crisis suit team able to do a little rending and may cover the generally softer units a little. No idea what stats to give the weapon though...

A heavy rifle would be cool

36 8 2 rapid fire pinning

probably cost about 30-40 points and be a special issue prototype and be the only battlesuit weapon system you can take due to it's size but you can still take support systems and wargear as normal.

Grenade launcher/Mobile mortar

G18 5 5 assault2 blast maybe you could put different ammo in and change the profile accordingly too.

Actually XV8s are "jump infantry (jet pack)" (tau codex pg 32 &34) , which according to the rules (pages 52) gives them "relentless". Thus they "can shoot with rapid fire and heavy weapons counting as stationary, even if they moved in the previous Movement phase, and are also allowed to assault in the same turn they fire them." (page 76, 5th edition rules section: Universal Special Rules)
