Default Broadsites and Instant Kill

Noob Question #4
I set up a team of 2 Broadsites and 2 drones. Drones blasted away due to heavy fire. And Predator fired his twin linked lascannons to remaining 2 broadsites. Guess what? 2 hits, 2 wounds and no saves against lascannon's AP. According to BOB, i have to split the wounds both of them. As lascannon's Str:9 and Broadsites Tho:4, they are both instant killed by 2 shots.

Is it right or did i miss smt again?

Technically yes, but on one key point, no.

A twinlinked lascannon doesn't fire two shots. It fires ONE shot, but if it misses, the dice can be rerolled.

What do you recommend me to prevent this?

Btw, when one drone is down, my squad will be counted as losing %25. So I should roll for morale check, right? (2 drones+2broadsites=4models)

Park your B-sides in cover when possible. Obvious I know sorry, but try to plan out good LOS for your B-sides in cover or have a nice squishy kroot squad surround them and marker light your target to remove cover save. If they fire at your B-sides, your B-sides get a cover save due to the Kroot being in-between the firer and your B-sides.

The best way to deal with this situation is to take more shield drones than 2 and also to put your broadsides in cover. There's really no reason no to. They have a 72 inch range on their guns and they really dont need to be moving anyway.
