Default O'shovah bodyguard (seven samurai style)

Allright, i've been thinking about trying a farsight enclaves army, and i wanted a "fluffy" (from a seven samurai perspective) bodyguard for him, based on this discription from wikipedia

Quote:
The Seven Samurai
Kambei Shimada (?????, Shimada Kanbei?) (Takashi Shimura) — The leader of the group and the first "recruited" by the villagers, he is a wise but war-weary samurai.
Gor?bei Katayama (??????, Katayama Gor?bei?) (Yoshio Inaba) — The second samurai, recruited by Kambei. A skilled archer, he acts as the second in command and helps create the master plan for the village's defense.
Shichir?ji (???) (Daisuke Kat?) — The third samurai. He was once Kambei's deputy. Kambei meets him by chance in the town and he resumes this role.
Heihachi Hayashida (????, Hayashida Heihachi?) (Minoru Chiaki) — The fourth samurai, recruited by Gor?bei. An amiable though less-skilled samurai whose charm and wit maintain his comrades' good cheer in the face of adversity.
Katsushir? Okamoto (?????, Okamoto Katsushir??) (Isao Kimura) — The fifth samurai. A young unbloodied samurai from an aristocratic family who wants to be Kambei's disciple.
Ky?z? (??) (Seiji Miyaguchi) — The sixth samurai, who initially declined an offer by Kambei to join the group, though he later changes his mind. A serious, stone-faced samurai and a supremely skilled swordsman; Katsushir? is in awe of him.
Kikuchiyo (???) (Toshir? Mifune) — The seventh member of the group and the only one who is not actually a samurai. A would-be samurai (right down to the false noble birth certificate) who eventually proves his worth. He is mercurial and temperamental. Of all the samurai, he most closely identifies with the villagers and their plight. Always the show-off, his sword, an ?katana, is considerably larger than everyone else's.
From this description, i came up with the following for his (6!) bodyguards:

shas'vre - Gorobei Katayama 68
TL Missile Pod
Targeting Array
Hardwired Target Lock

Shas'vre - Shichiroji 85
TL Plasma Rifle
Shield Generator

Shas'vre - Heihachi Hayashida 73
Burst Cannon
Drone Controller
2 Shield Drones

Shas'vre - Katsushiro Okamoto 52
TL Burst Cannon
Target Lock

Shas'vre - Kyuzo 75
TL Plasma Rifle
Targeting Array

Shas'vre 73
Airbursting Fragmentation Projector
Multitracker
Burstcannon
Hardwired Target Lock

The plasma rifles and burst cannons represents swords (with plasma rifles being more "skilled"), the missile pod is a bow and arrow, and the AFP is a bigger sword
But, is the unit effective enough? it has the ability to pop a rhino, shoot at light infantry, and take out heavy infantry, in the same turn. Is this a good idea, or should the entire unit be more specialized?

Now you see this is actually an awesome Idea. I keep mentioning this, and I hope people aren't tired of me saying it but I'm working on my own version of the Tau fandex and when I get around to actually doing the special characters I'm going to be doing something very different for commander farsight than seen in previous options. Basically I'm going to make it so that his bodyguards aren't just regular crisis bodyguards but they're ALL special characters. This information will be very helpful to me in deciding how I design their rules. Thank you very VERY much!

Yeah, I've gotta say, this actually made me interested in in 'Farsight & his 7 Dwarves (a little in-house joke my friends & I made up back when this codex came out, lol). I'm definitely gonna have to look into this a bit further. Thanks for the post Abemad!

One piece of wisdom for Tau I've always kept in mind is the "Daisho" or "the long and the short". The nomenclature is in reference to the pairing of a Katana and Wakizashi. So the sword pair can be referred to as Daisho. This is how I usually think of the Fireknife configuration.

Thx for the comments, @AndyinUT I tried to be consistent, and I also had the katana/wakizashi in mind, but instead of missile/plasma, i thought plasma/burst instead, keeping the missile as a bow and arrow

Heihachi Hayashida is one piece of equipment short, which should be a target lock.

But no one has answered my original question, will they work, or are they just to multi purpose?
