Due to most armies running mech with meltas in there list it become extremly hard for me to grab objectives with my firewarriors and i can't always gaurantee that i will be able to kill all the forces inside without getting mowed down by a heavy bolter or assults. so how would you guys grab objectives in missions.

fire warriors with a devil fish and outflanking kroot. i actually like tau troop choices. both the shas and the kroot are well armed but aren't overpowered like meqs.

Kill stuff, then take objectives.

I don't play my Tau, but I certainly do not like how awesomely solid a simple devilfish with a few 'poker-playing' fire warriors inside is. I play against Tau quite a bit (we grind playtest armies against each other nonstop) and so many times his D-pods would deflect krak missiles, lascannons, multimeltas (especially multimeltas, I don't think that gun has downed a fish yet!). Near the end of the game I might have downed 1, but some other will tank shock me off the objective, and since its so huge I don't even contest it!
So really, kill what objectives you can, tank shock the ones you can't, and leave the kroot at home base.

Don't attempt to hold an objective until turn 5, at which point you want to (generally) hold one or two and contest the rest. Remember: you only need to win by 1. Massed crisis suit fire + tank shocking devilfish/hammerheads/anything can usually clear an objective. Piranhas turbo-boosting are great for contesting an objective at the last minute. Kroot that have gone to ground on an objective in a forest are stupidly resilient to shooting.
