Default Good Kill-Team?

I got one idea for TAU kill team.
What about making it composed only from gun drones, if you field 13 drones you break one rule and if you reduce the numbers to 12 you even don't brake any.
(As they are same unit entry (only taken twice, but as they are same unit it doesn't count, and if you have 13 of them you brake the maximum number of models once.)

Also it fit tau fluf well as they value any live more than mechanical constructs, so it is logical that they will send on suicide missin drones.

And rulevise they are fast (with jetpack), they have assault 18 weapon that can kill any brute squad in large numbers. And they have good iniciativ in CC and if you assaoul you even get some extra attacks.

So what do you thing about them?

Extremely boring, especially ina naritive-based game like Kill Team.

But I suppose it'll be effective, in a manner of speaking.

Personally I'd use a Kill Team made up of a mix of Stealth Suits and Drones. It makes sense to me that mavericks that can just disappear into thin air would be the first choice for dangerous commando missions. Drones, as you said before, are cheap and effective, and totally expendable. They just lack character of any kind at all.

Pathfinders might be a decent choice as well, but you'd be suffering from a violation (no devilfish) and their markerlights would be pretty ineffective. Not to mention the other model's jet packs would be totally wasted if they were hitched together.

I come with this idea as alternative to stealth sit team which broke incredible high number of rules (just all that burst cannons) so only other unit with jetpack allowed in kill team would be drone unit. (and mixin the two would not only break more rules but also negate the stealth rule)

I know that drones doesn't have much character, but in tau army they would make sense for suicide missions.

Drones that are part of Stealth Teams keep the stealth rules as well. Just break one rule: take two Shas'ui. Then you can have hardwired Drones and not worry about that.

Plus Burst Cannons are assault weapons, not heavy, so you don't break any rules there.

But it is a 3 shot weapon and that does break a rule.

I forgot about that. Oh well! You'll only break the rule about 3 times anyway, and those burst cannons can mince anything the brutes can muster with ease

I really hate the restrictions btw. It makes Missile Launchers and Heavy Bolters less attractive (over S7 and over 2 shots) because these are apprently 'heavy duty weapons'. But the Autocannon, which is perfectly in between the restrictions, isn't? Doesn't make sense to me, since ML's and HB's are alot more common place in my opinion. Very silly.

Yeah, but are you really going to fire something inside your ship that could pierce the hull? (Assuming its the hull scenario)

Well if Terminators do it...

I doubt Crisis Suits do much ship-board fighting in any case.
