Default Vehicles, Moving & Shooting

Someone said: With SMS, if you move, you can't fire because it's a heavy weapon.
Does the type of weapon matter because with a multi-tracker..?

No, and besides the SMS is less than S6 and is considered 'defensive'.

Gotcha, I think someone was referring to a SMS on a broadside.

Correct, as both the Twin-linked Railguns and the SMS are Heavy, the Broadside may never fire any of its weapons on a trun in which it moves, regardless of what support systems it has mounted.

Weapon type doesn't matter with vehicles, only the strength. Refer to rulebook. Also refer to what the codex states the multi-tracker does, and the respective rulebook reference for vehicles moving fast.

I'd forgotten about the defensive weapon rule. So you wouldn't need to take multitracker for your devilfishes eh? Is that how it works? You can always fire your defensive weapons regardless of movement?

It is still needed if you want to move 12" and fire.* Reference the table on page 63 of the main rulebook.

Essentially, the Multi-tracker allows both the Devilfish and the Hammerhead to always fire all weapons, regardless of how far they move.

-_-...They can't move more than 12". Devilfish and Hammerheads are only "treated" like fast skimmers if they take the multi-tracker. It doesn't mean that they actually are fast skimmers. The movement is still maxed at 12".
