Default Ethereals!

Ok, this is kind of a stupid question at first, but its something ive been wondering for a while!

I know that there are several things that you use your leadership for such as:
  • Pinning Checks
  • Losing 50% of a squad in shooting
  • Losing in CC
  • Rolling to see if you can shoot another squad, rather than the one closest to you
  • Falling Back
  • Psychic Powers (I know Tau dosent have any, but Im also asking this because Undivided Chaos gets to re-roll Leadership checks, just as ethereals would allow)

I think that does it!

Which ones are actually classified as "Leadership Checks" that the Ethereal, or Undivided Chaos, would be allowed to re-roll?

Ethereals don't allow you to re-roll leadership tests. They allow you to re-roll morale tests.

Also, there is no roll for losing 50% of a squad. You have to test morale when you suffer 25% or more casualties during the shooting phase.

It sounds like you are confused.

Pinning check = leadership
Losing 50% of a squad during shooting - non existent
Losing in close combat, Morale
Target priority - Leadership
Falling back - Morale, connected to certain psychic powers and losing close combat, 25% casualties during shooting
Psychic Powers - Leadership

Leadership is a composite of character resolve in this game.

There are 3 morale checks in the game:

- taking 25% casualties from shooting

- loosing an assault

- tank shock

These are the only checks that an Ethereal allows you to re-roll. This is all very clearly laid out on p.47-48 of the rulebook.

If you own the Tau codex, you'll find the answer on page 23.* If you do not own the codex, then go buy one. ;D

Don't tell me that you fell for the MTV lie?
The MTV lie is that people who rebel against tradition are thnking for themselves, while those who follow tradition are just sheep who do not think.
It is, of course, completely untrue. The decision to follow tradition is just as much an exercize of free will as is the decision to depart from it.

It means they will never have to regroup. Why? Cuz they will never run away cuz they are fearless!

Btw, thanks ShadowDeth and T0nkaTruckDriver for your help!
