Default XV8 commanders-weaponry

Hey yall, This is my first post and its a question for you. I recently bought a XV8 commander to revamp my old army (my original one looks horrid and I can't fix it). However I cannot decide what weaponry to equip it with. I'm definitely want to give it a shield generator to stop instant death from blowing him up on the first turn but other than that I simply cannot choose which weapons to give him since the codex prevents having two of the same weapon since it twinlinks them. anyhelp would be appreciated. ???

I take an Airbursting Frag Launcher (with the commanders high BS means it is hard to miss fully) and a cyclonic Ion Blaster against infantry or a Plasma Rifle for HQ's and weak vehicles. Then take a hard-wired multi-tracker.

That is my set too
I run a Shas'o with CIB and AFL, with a Shield Generator and a HW Multitracker and occasionally i'll give him drones and a Stimulant Injector
I also run a Shas'el with BC and MP, and a Shield Generator. Then i give him Iridium Plates and a HW multitracker and occasionally drones

Plasma & Missiles; versatile & so able to assist most of the other squads.

I'm a big fan of Shas'el with plasma rifle, missile pod and ABFP; multitracker is obligatory on all my suits. You cover all the bases with that setup.

I use 'el with CIB, plasma rifle, target array and hw multi tracker.

Magnetise and experiment... that's the only advice I can give you. Don't glue the weapons on your Commander, that's just madness! Madness, I tell you!

You can also pin the weapons on but only glue the pin into either the gun or arm (this only seems to work with railguns and fusion guns for me though)

Madness? THIS IS T'AU!

In all seriousness though, listen to Bonesaw. Magnets will run you something like... $0.05/magnet. It's a worthwhile investment if you want to have the ability to do multiple configurations. I'm experimenting with them myself right now. Once I get them working on my stealths, I'll post something to help other people with the gotchas of implementing magnetic weaponry.
