Should i paint my drones before I put them on thier stands or should I paint them after I put them on the stands?

undercoat them before you do detail.

Or if you have a shaky hands, just detail them and then put them on the stand.

Kinda depends on your disposition.

This is just a suggestion and I really dont condone doing this but what i do is I dont glue the gun drones to the stands because those stands have a tendency to break if they are glued on. So my suggestion is to just not glue the gun drone to the stand it solves your problem for painting and saves you money on stands

You really shouldn't glue the flying base to the drones. The bases fit fairly snug on the chasis of the drone for gameplay purposes. What I do is undercoat them off the base and them put them on the base so I can paint the drone w/o holding the model. This helps since you really don't have much to hold onto when painting them. Aside from the pulse carbines, the bottom of my drones are just drybrushed either a metal or skull white (against black undercoat) I can assure you most players only see the top of the drones anyway. So no need to pack in the detail under the dome. Unless that's your thing. ;D

You shouldn't glue them to their stands at all! After you assemble your drones, just pop them onto the stands and they will hold up fine! Also you can get your drones to tilt a little bit so they don't look so static! ;D
