Default Markerlighting

I've been looking at the rules for markerlights, and also what people are saying about them, and I've been wanting to put a pathfinder team into my army to assist my battlesuits, but something just doesn't add up.
Now, most people light a target up, then fire off two weapons off of their crisis suits using this, but the rules say that you can only light one model for one weapon (p19).
Now, does this mean that I'd need two markerlights for a single crisis is I'm using two weapons for it?
That'll become a hassle if I'm using a full crisis squad and only eight markerlights, as I'd only be using half of them on adverage (because of accuracy).
Can anybod clarify?
Thanks ^_^.

as i remember the rules it is one markerlight for 1 weapon so yes you would need 2 marker lights to fire 2 weapons. that said if you marker light for the big guns (rail guns and ion cannons) it can be very effective. Pathfinders can also be used to annoy the enemy on flanks and slow advances.

I'm pretty sure that the actuall number of shots isn't an issue, so yea. It's just the number of separate weapons on a single model.
So...I guess then if you really want to maximise the number of weapons to be used like this, with only one pathfinder team, then the flamer might not be too bad of a choice?

Yes indeed, can't really argue on that one , just because your behind a bush won't get u a save if the frames just roast it to ashes ;D the flamer is also a weapon where you can kind of chose who you hit, as you are just in range of a troop and the commander is on the side
--> one dead commander (models that die from weapons that use a blast marker must be taken from underneat the marker)

Also, if you use a markerlight and let a crisis or broadside fire a TL weapon you will have near 100% success rate
OK the markers don't always find there mark but considering this it's handy ... just in case

Are you sure about that?? I remember very specifically seeing a rule in relation to frag missiles, that said you don't have to remove wounds from under the template, to specifically PREVENT sniping the commander/marine with a plasma rifle, ETC.

Markerlgiht allows you to shoot one weapon system (twin linked count as one system), regardless of how many shots.. 2 weapons = 2 systems = 2 markerlights. Which kinda sucks, but the rules are the rules. Especially the stat that if you get a markerlight hit, broadsides have a 97.22222% chance of hitting

Yikes, and I thought I was green.

Markerlights apply to one weapon system each. Template weapon casualties can be removed from anywhere in the squad, following rules for line of sight and maximum weapon distance.

Tsumishi - your concerns are valid. Often times you will have lights floating with nothing to use them. I suggest guiding a hammerhead weapon or *suprise* using seekers! :P

This kinda re-affirms the suspicion that I have that the pathfinders are more like heavy weapons category than fast attack.

It's like each pathfinder can command a 97% chance of insta-wound on their targets (supposing of course, that it is lit up)

Querry: Does the Kroot Gun benefit from it ?
