You could just be going thought a losing streak, I've been having one with my orks
but change your list around and see how it works out
try new things

Their is definitely a learning curve with Tau. Don't expect to win any of your first 20 games, and play on a team with another player as much as possible. It really is an educational experience, as it allows you to observe another players reaction to an identical situation.

You just need to stop being a noob!

LOL, just kidding :P It takes time to get used to fighting horde armies and marines with drop pods, the trick is the concentrate your fire and constantly move around with your vehicles!

If your luck is bad that also is a problem. It is also good to get more experience. Also some AP 3 can ignore armor saves if your opponent is insanely lucky. I lost a lot of my first few games as well Tau need to be learned how to use them well.

I was on a little losing streak too....

Until I switched up the positions of where I placed all of my units. Try that. You might just be setting up in a way that isn't to your advantage.

Or buy new dice. That works.

First; learn grammar ! (just kidding, but it sure helps us read posts)

Then realize you will not win a lot for a long time. There were two qualifiers in that statement for a reason. Not winning a lot means you'll win occasionally (which is nice). Pay attention to what you do when you win though, it'll help... for that matter pay attention when you lose to . A long time is relative; it really depends on how long it takes you to A) get a grasp on the game and B) get a grasp on your army (Tau in this case).

Whatever you do don't get discouraged; you probably did the best thing you could by joining Tauonline. There's a wealth of experienced players of all armies to give you guidance and a large quantity of semi-clueless really helpful people like me :funny:.

I have a lot of fun losing to my mates Orks (and I do want to remedy that but... still). Another buddy doesn't seem to mind his Necrons getting trounced every time I play him. It's a great game really, it just takes time to get good.

Hey shasel, I play orks, and I am personally really surprised the time my brother beat me with his tau.
[hr]
He charged me.
[hr]
I lost that game. He didn't have much left, but with devilfish dropping fire warriors and outflanking kroot, along with support fire from crisis suits and other fire warriors....
Let's just say I wasn't happy when he beat me even in close combat. Haha.

About the Orks situation; I had a good list lined up and then his Weirdboy got 6 Waaaghs in a row.
[hr]
Yeah, every turn he Waaaghed
[hr]
I like to stick to reliable tactics, I assault unexpectedly once in a while (or with a Failsafe Heatwave > "Eat this Boyz!"). Assaulting with Firewarriors is not a reliable tactic. It'll work occasionally and if you're really lucky, but 9.9 times out of 10 shooting is a better option IME.
