Default So I kinda ordered some Kroot off Ebay....

I bought some of these kroot here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ME:B:EOAB:CA:6

And well, they seemed well enough, and honestly to me, I really dislike assembling and painting Kroot models, so I thought buying this would be kind of a good idea...

But well..

Kinda might be having second thoughts... I dunno... I mean I will still pay him for it, but I was wondering in general, did I get a decent deal?

What do you guys think?

They're too crazy colorful for me! But: A box of 16 costs about $30, you got more than twice as many for $45, so that's a good deal if all you care about is gameplay! They're assembled too.

If they aren't varnished/enameled, I'd say do some quick darker color glazes, to tone them down a bit, make them dirtier. Paint the face on the one that has no face (okay, I suppose it was MEANT to be that way, but I don't like it) and just try to tone down the gaudy factor.

Some of the kroot are monochromatic, so you could literally just find a dark approximation of the color, ink it. Find a lighter version of the color, and drybrush, and have something infinitely more pleasing to the eye, and it would take about an hour.

It's not a bad deal - it's not really a great one considering you can buy a brand new box of kroot for ~$24 from the Warstore. The paint job is indeed a bit fugly but nothing a dip in Simple Green and a toothbrush can't cure.

Is simple green some sort of cleaner?

Yeah, apparently a household cleaner avail. in US.

Refer to this: http://www.40konline.com/community/i...c,79520.0.html but note that its talking about metal minis, not plastic. What to do with plastic models is mentioned near the end of that post.

If I buy anything of Ebay I make sure it's either unassembeled and unpainted or at least unpainted.

But yeh, you got some Kroot for cheap, not bad.
