Default All comers crisis config?

Okay here was my idea for an all comers crisis config, Keep in mine HQ1 will be a relay'O for nnjaing abilities

Shas'el (CIB, Plasma rifle, TA, HW-MT)
Bodyguard( flamer, Plasma Rifle, Targeting Array, HardWired-Multi-Tracker)
Bodyguard (Flamer, Plasma Rifle, TA, HW-MT)

Thoughts on this? Other good all comers configs?

My primary Taker-all sqaud is my HQ1

A Sunfire suit (Fusion + Plasma + Missile pod + HW multitracker and extra) with
2 Fireknife-S suit (Missle + plasma + CIB/AFP + HW Multitracker and extra).

I change the Wargear as needed, but I found that this HQ is quite versatile and good a Helping my other crisis suit who are more specialised.

Specialize your suits!

2 problems with your setup, 1. The flamer doesn't have the same target as the plasma rifle so their's no point in having a MT and 2. It is more effective to twin link the plasma rifle.
For a take-all-comers suit, it might be able to function well. However, it would do better fighting MEQs/TEQs as the majority of points spent on it are geared towards that role. Fighting hordes seams like more of an afterthought.

One idea I had for a Take-All-Comers Commander was to combine our best polar anti infantry setups. Namely, the Auora (plasma rifle + CIB) and the Hurricane (AFP + CIB) on a single suit.
An 'El with all three weapons and a hard wired multi tracker would come to 110 points, and be good against any type of infantry.

In all seriousness though, it is always a better idea to specialize your suits against a single target. The only Take-All-Comers suit that has ever worked for me would be the Firestorm.

Well aparently some people think that specializing your suits is considered cheating....

What?? Who in Hell think that?? Not a Tau player I hope.

That's kind of the point of Crisis suit after all.

Here are mine (excluding special character):
1 XV-8 commander (Sunfire) with 2 bodyguard (Fireknife(S))
1 XV-84 commander (Weaponless) +2 bodyguards (Bladestorm)
12 XV-8 suits (Deathrain x3; Burning eyes x3; Firestorm x3; Helios x3)
1 XV-81 commander (Deathrain(S))
1 XV-89 commander (Sunforge)

As you can see, aside from my Primary HQ which is a taker-all, everyone is specialised for a specific role.

I like specializing all my suits, especially HQ's as any job 'ui/vres can do: 'el/os can do better.
Je te presente an example:
Shas'el Ionstorm
- CIB, BC, TA, HWMT + whatev's ya want more :P
or
Shas'el Helios
- PR, FB, TA, HWMT + goodies ;D

Exhibit A can devastate GEqs + similar units with 8 shots at BS 5

Exhibit B has lotsa TEq killin' goodness

Most armies have TEqs (Hence the Helios) and the Ionstorm can handle lots more due to an 18" (effective 24") range and the CIB's unstable ionisation rate rule (so you get AP 1 every once in a while)

well... that'd mean that tactical squads taking non-missile/flamer weapons are cheating, dark eldar warriors taking blasters is cheating, eldar autarchs taking aspect gear is cheating, etc etc etc. looking like hard to play a fair game...

personally i prefer taking only 2 weapon systems (maybe one TL'd and one normal) and a multi tracker. taking one TL weapon or taking 3 weapons makes me feel like i'm wasting points.
The configs I prefer are TL Fusion + Plas + HWMT for an HQ selection and dropping them into some tanks or termies nad then taking fire storms for my multi purpose suits.

Tausand Sun,

All-Comers List doesn't mean taking an All-Comers unit. You can specialized but you should specialize all your units to take on a specific opponent. That's when you're 'cheating'. For example:

3 x 3 XV-8 'Crisis' Battlesuit equipped with Fusion Blaster, Plasma Rifle and Multi-Tracker.

This is obviously Anti-MEQ with nothing for you to handle horde armies. Another example would be:

3 x 3 XV-8 'Crisis' Battlesuit equipped with Burst Cannon, Missile Pod and Multi-Tracker.

This would be an obvious anti-horde setup.

[hr]

You shouldn't use different lists for different opponents but rather just use ONE lists for any opponent including horde, MEQs etc.

Actually, I think a Firestorm is a pretty good all-comer setup due to the pre-ponderence of cover saves. The high strength of the MP and the high ROF of the BC combine well (and their AP values are similar) with the ranges 18" gets you seven shots that can be a very flexible firepower platform
